I’ve not made any films for a while as I’ve been concentrating on work with recovery and peer support. So this site is on hold. But you never know.

Collective Voice

The films I made for the Mental Health Improvement Programme about Collective Voice, are now on their youtube channel.

There are films from each of the events – starting in Liverpool, then Manchester, Chester and Kendal.

It is interesting to see the changes as well as the similarities over the period from July 2009.

Had an inspiring day yesterday at an event organised by Patient Opinion.

I’d offered to help out with social reporting – thank you to David Wilcox for the loan of his vidcam. And thank you to everyone else for their comments, help and patience.

I found it a really interesting experience. For me, it highlighted the different conversations needed to report something quickly rather than film and edit later. Definitely separate techniques. I certainly need more practice!

Rainhill hospital

October 1, 2009 Leave a comment

Working on a new film about the old Rainhill hospital. The hospital closed in 1992 and its all been demolished now to make way for housing.

I’ve interviewed a couple of people who were patients there in the 1960s and I’ve got hold of some wonderful photographs from Vince Ellis, who contacted me via the internet. Hopefully, it’ll all come together – and they’ll all like the finished film.
